Can every Manchester home have a home charger?
Not every home is equally easy, and parking is the main question. A house with a driveway or garage is usually straightforward. A Victorian terrace that opens straight onto the pavement is harder.
- Running a cable across a public pavement is a trip hazard and is normally not allowed. Check with the council about other options.
- Flats and shared buildings may need agreement from the freeholder or management company.
- Rented homes need the landlord's permission.
Grants for chargers have existed for some flats and rented homes, but the rules change. Check the official government website for the current position before you buy.
If there is no way to charge at home, a workplace charger or a nearby public site may suit you better.
